These routes changed on Sept. 12
Beginning Saturday, Sept. 12, changes were made to routes operated by Metro Transit, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority and Maple Grove Transit.
This list is an overview of the changes. If your route is listed, please pick up an updated schedule for details. Schedules are available below, on buses and trains, and at Metro Transit stores and outlets.

Maple Grove Transit
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Frequency of non-rush hour service on some branches will be adjusted on weekdays and Saturdays to better match customer demand.
• Southbound Route 6E and F buses will travel on Hazelton, France, Gallagher, Parklawn, Edinborough and 76th to Minnesota Dr. and France Ave. Southbound Route 6K buses will travel on Hazelton and France to Minnesota Dr.
• Northbound Route 6E, F and K trips will travel on Minnesota Dr., Edinborough, Parklawn, Gallagher, France and Hazelton.
• Bus stops will be added at these locations:
– For northbound Route 6E, F and K trips: on Edinborough at Parklawn and on Parklawn at Centennial Lakes driveway
– For southbound Route 6E and F trips: on Parklawn at France, on Parklawn at Edinborough and on Edinborough at 76th
– For southbound Route 6K trips: on France at Parklawn, on France between Parklawn and 76th and on France between 76th and Minnesota
• Service will extend to 34th Ave. & Hwy. 62, replacing Route 27 service south of Lake St. Buses will operate on Minnehaha Ave., 46th St. and 34th Ave.
• Timepoints will be added at Minnehaha & E. 38th St., 46th Street Station and 34th & Hwy. 62.
• A bus stop will be added on northbound 26th Ave. & Lake St.
• The bus stop on Transitway at 27th Ave. S. by Rainbow will be eliminated.
• Buses will operate on 4th St. in both directions downtown.
• Sunday evening frequency will be improved to approximately every 30 minutes.
• Service from Route 24 will be merged into this route.
• Some frequency of service and schedule times will be adjusted.
• Route 9N trips will serve Cedar Lake Rd. between Glenwood and Laurel.
• Route 9H trips will begin and end at Park Place & Gamble. Service to Novartis will be eliminated.
• Route 9D trips will serve Park Place Blvd. and Gamble instead of operating on 16th St.
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester (eff. Sept. 8).
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
• Added westbound Route 16 trips will operate from Emerald & University.
• This route number will be eliminated. Service will be merged with Route 9.
• This route will be restructured to focus on service between I-35W and Hiawatha Ave. Service south of Lake St. will be replaced by an extension on Route 7.
• The restructured route will operate weekdays from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. with service every 15 minutes during rush hours and 30 minutes during non-rush hours.
Route 39 (eff. June 12)
• Three morning trips were added to assist customers making transfers while the northbound bus stop at I-35W & Lake St. is closed.
• Buses will return to regular route on 46th at Cedar Ave.
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester (eff. Sept. 8).
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
• New Route 50E trips will serve Emerald & University.
• Westbound trips leaving 6th & Cedar at 4:15 a.m. on weekdays and 4:19 a.m. on Saturdays will instead leave at 4:10 a.m. in response to customer requests.
• Weekday afternoon rush-hour service will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
• New Route 64H trips will operate between Smith Avenue Ramp and Hillcrest Shopping Center on White Bear Ave.
Route 111/113/114/115 (eff. Sept. 8)
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
Route 118 (eff. Sept. 8)
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• This route will reverse operations through campus. Buses will no longer stop along University Ave. or 4th St.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
Route 152 (eff. Sept. 8)
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
Route 252 NEW! (eff. Sept. 8)
• This route will provide express service between 95th Ave. Park & Ride in Blaine and U of M.
• Three morning and three afternoon rush-hour trips will be available.
Route 272 (eff. Sept. 8)
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
• New coach buses will be used on most trips.
• An added trip will leave 5th St. Garage Transit Center at 3:22 p.m.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match traffic conditions.
• Service to Eagan, including the U.S. Postal Service facility and Ecolab, will be eliminated due to low ridership. Alternate service is available on MVTA Routes 436 and 489.
• The trip leaving Parkview Plaza at 12:11 p.m. will be eliminated.
Route 467 NEW! (eff. Sept. 28)
• This route will provide express service between the new Kenrick Avenue Park & Ride in Lakeville and downtown Minneapolis.
• Six morning and six afternoon rush-hour trips will be available.
• New coach buses will be used on all trips.
Route 612
• This route will be eliminated due to low ridership and the end of federal grant funding. Alternate service is available on Routes 664, 667 or 670, Lake Minnetonka Area Dial-A-Ride or Route 12 (in Hopkins).
Route 652 (eff. Sept. 8)
• Service will increase to accommodate demand with the start of U of M’s fall semester.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match customer demand.
Route 705 (eff. July 25)
• Route 705A buses are operating on Plymouth Ave. between Winnetka and Boone avenues.
• Schedule times were adjusted to better match traffic conditions and to better accommodate connections with Route 717 at 42nd Ave.
Route 716 (eff. July 25)
• Saturday schedule times were adjusted to better match traffic conditions and to better accommodate connections with Route 14 in Robbinsdale.
Route 717 (eff. July 25)
• Schedule times were adjusted to better match traffic conditions and to better accommodate connections with Route 705 at Winnetka Ave.
• The timepoint at 51st Ave. & Nathan Lane was eliminated.
• A timepoint was added at Nathan Lane and Cub Foods.
• This route no longer serves Nathan Lane between 45th and 51st avenues or 51st Ave.
Route 720
• This route will be eliminated due to low ridership and the end of federal grant funding. Alternative service is available through Maple Grove Transit Dial-A-Ride.
• The southbound trip leaving France Ave. & 73rd at 7:12 a.m. will be eliminated.
• The southbound trip leaving the same location at 6:52 a.m. will instead leave 10 minutes later and be operated with an articulated (accordion) bus.
• New coach buses will be used on most trips.
• Schedule times will be adjusted to better match traffic conditions.
• The southbound timepoint at 7th St. & 5th St. will move to 7th St. & 6th St.
Minnesota Valley Transit Authority
• Eastbound trips leaving Apple Valley Transit Station at 6:31 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. will be eliminated.
• Westbound trips leaving Rosemount Plaza at 5:56 a.m., 6:56 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. will be eliminated.
• An added eastbound trip will leave Apple Valley Transit Station at 7:00 p.m.
• An added westbound trip will leave Rosemount Plaza at 6:30 p.m.
• Changes will be made to notes regarding connections.
• Eastbound trips will be added at 8:35 a.m. and 3:35 p.m.
• Westbound trips will be added at 8:05 a.m. and 3:05 p.m.
Route 422
• This route will be eliminated.
• Minor routing changes will be made on southbound trips.
• An added northbound trip at 5:39 p.m. will serve Thomson Reuters and Boulder Lakes in Eagan with a timed connection at Pilot Knob and Mendota Heights Rd. for service to the 46th Street Station.
• This trip will terminate at West 7th & Maynard in St. Paul to connect to Metro Transit Routes 54 and 84.
• A change will be made to notes regarding connections to Route 420.
• The printed schedule shows an updated routing with a new stop at northbound Hwy. 13 at Cliff Rd. and elimination of the stop on Horizon Dr.
• Notes will be added regarding connections from Route 436 to Route 446.
• An added northbound trip will leave Burnsville Transit Station at 7:23 a.m.
• Northbound trips leaving Burnsville Transit Station at 7:19 and 7:22 a.m. will move to 7:17 and 7:20 a.m., respectively.
• An added southbound trip will leave Gateway Ramp at 4:31 p.m.
• Southbound trips leaving Gateway Ramp at 4:29 and 4:33 p.m. will move to 4:28 and 4:34 p.m., respectively.
• Some schedule times will be adjusted.
• The northbound trip at 5:51 a.m. will begin at 145th & Diamond Path at 5:36 a.m. and serve Rosemount Community Center Park & Ride. Trip will continue to operate from 142nd & Pilot Knob at 5:51 a.m.
• Southbound trips at 4:06 and 5:36 p.m. will serve Rosemount Community Center Park & Ride and terminate at 145th & Diamond Path.
• An added northbound trip will leave Apple Valley Transit Station at 6:01 a.m.
• An added southbound trip will leave Gateway Ramp at 4:54 p.m.
• Northbound trips at 6:20 and 6:48 a.m. will no longer serve 157th Street Station, but will begin at Apple Valley Transit Station at 6:36 and 7:04 a.m., respectively.
• Southbound trips leaving Gateway Ramp at 4:07 and 4:38 p.m. will terminate at Apple Valley Transit Station and no longer serve 157th Street Station.
• Schedule times for some trips will be adjusted slightly.
Route 477V (eff. Sept. 28)
• Five northbound and five southbound Route 477 trips will be extended to serve the new Lakeville Cedar Park & Ride, under construction near Cedar Ave. & 181st St. Those trips will be Route 477V in the printed schedule. Buses may need to serve a temporary parking site near the facility during construction. Details at mvta.com.
Route 478 NEW!
• This route will provide express service between Rosemount Community Center Park & Ride and downtown Minneapolis.
• Two morning and two afternoon rush-hour trips will be available.
• This route will no longer serve Rosemount Community Center Park & Ride.
• Northbound trips will leave 157th St. & Granada Court at 6:20 and 6:49 a.m., travel along local streets to 157th Street Station and then operate nonstop to downtown Minneapolis.
• Southbound trips will begin at Gateway Ramp at 4:03 and 4:31 p.m.
• Routing will be revised around Heart of the City in Burnsville.
• The northbound trip leaving Thomson Reuters at 5:30 p.m. will be replaced with a Route 436 trip at 5:39 p.m.
• Trips serving Ecolab also will serve Boulder Lakes with some minor schedule adjustments.
Maple Grove Transit
• The southbound trip leaving Shepherd of the Grove Park & Ride at 8:34 a.m. will be eliminated.
• The northbound trip leaving 3rd Ave. & 10th St. at 5:40 p.m. will be eliminated.
• The southbound trip leaving Zachary/96th Ave. Park & Ride at 8:20 a.m. will be eliminated.
• The northbound trip leaving 3rd Ave. & 10th St. at 6:06 p.m. will be eliminated.
• The northbound trip leaving 3rd Ave. & 10th St. at 6:06 p.m. will be eliminated.
Route 789 NEW! (eff. Sept. 8)
• This express route will provide service between Maple Grove Transit Station and U of M.
• Two morning (7:07 and 8:07 a.m.) and two afternoon (4:40 and 5:40 p.m.) rush-hour trips will be available.
