Let's work together to keep flu from spreading

Metro Transit is operating its normal service schedule. We are meeting regularly with state health and emergency preparedness officials, who will update us of any increased threat to public health. Check back for updated information.

We have enhanced our cleaning processes on buses and trains by using additional sanitizers to wipe down handrails and other surfaces that are touched regularly.

You can help minimize the spread of flu by following these recommendations:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or a sleeve when you cough or sneeze, especially around other people.

  • Wash your hands often, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

  • Practice other good health habits. Keep yourself strong – and more resistant to disease – by getting plenty of sleep, staying physically active, managing stress, drinking plenty of fluids and eating nutritious food.

  • If you get sick, consider staying home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
